Prom season 2013 begins

You know the school year is nearing an end when the prom orders start to come in. The big weekend isn’t until June 8 , but we have a few early proms to get us in the spirit of things!

We love to do combination orders, where we coordinate the corsage and boutonnière. Here are a few of our favorites.

The classic white orchid is always popular.

For the girls going for the retro mad men look, a classic cymbidium orchid corsage, just like their grandmothers would have worn.

Home and garden inspiration

I love the springtime home and garden tours. I always come away with so many great ideas and feeling very inspired.
This week I went to two of the best here in LA.
Friday we went to the Pasadena showcase house. This tour features one grand home. So many talented designers collaborate to bring this project to life. My favorite part this year was the pool house with its retro vibe. The garden surrounding the pool was really well done. Some beautiful vignettes , great places to sit with a book and relax.
The tour is continuing through May 19, so you still have time to see it!

Saturday was the Venice home and garden tour. This is the first time I have been on this tour. I loved it and will be sure to not miss it next year.

The tour featured 30 homes and or gardens.

Interior designers , landscape designers, artists, and architects are some of the people who opened their homes or gardens to the public. With that kind of talent you can imagine the beautiful properties we saw.

We spent the entire day walking the streets of Venice. Because the tour is located near the Abbott Kinney area we also had a great lunch at Lemonade and did some shopping.

Can’t wait to try some new ideas out in my garden this spring!

London 2013

I was lucky to be able to visit my daughter Dana in London this past February. Even though it was the middle of one of their coldest winters ever, there was still plenty of inspiration to be found.

A great trip, a little bit of spring in the middle of winter!
